Rate Increase effective August 2018
July 25, 2018
On June 21st, 2018 the Osceola County Rural Water System's Board of Directors reviewed a water rate study prepared by our engineering firm. The boards opted to implement a 5% increase.
The increase is needed for a variety of reason including productions costs (such as chemicals and electricty), aging infrastructure and the ability to continue to maintain our sound financial position.
The water rates will be reevaluated again next year as a 10-15 percent rate increase was recommended as part of the study. The new water rate is to be implemented for the July water use and will reflect on the August 2018 billing.
